Exporting Data
Download your form responses as a CSV file for analysis in spreadsheet applications, databases, or data tools.
How to Export
- Open your form in the Builder.
- Go to the Results tab.
- Click the Export CSV button.
- A CSV file will download to your computer.
What's Included
The CSV export contains:
- All responses — Every submission received for the form.
- All questions — Each question becomes a column header.
- Submission metadata — Timestamp and response duration.
- Matrix answers — Expanded into individual columns (one per row label).
File Format
- Format: CSV (Comma-Separated Values).
- Encoding: UTF-8.
- Compatible with: Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, LibreOffice Calc, and any data analysis tool.
Opening Your Export
In Google Sheets
- Go to Google Sheets and create a new spreadsheet.
- Click File > Import.
- Upload the CSV file.
- Choose "Comma" as the separator.
In Microsoft Excel
- Open Excel.
- Click File > Open and select the CSV file.
- The data will load into columns automatically.
In Numbers (Mac)
- Double-click the CSV file — it opens directly in Numbers.
Tips
- Export regularly to maintain a local backup of your response data.
- Use CSV exports for advanced analysis that goes beyond the built-in analytics (pivot tables, charts, statistical analysis).
- Combine exports from multiple forms in a single spreadsheet for cross-form analysis.
